Program Overview
Fundamentals Flight Training participates in the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program by offering transitioning service members the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in civilian aviation maintenance operations.
Fundamentals Flight Training is an FAA Part 141 flight training organization located at Erie International Airport in Erie, Pennsylvania. This program is designed specifically for military aircraft maintenance personnel and mechanically experienced service members who are interested in transitioning into civilian aviation maintenance careers.
Participants will work in a real-world FAA-regulated aviation environment and gain experience in aircraft maintenance operations, inspections, maintenance tracking, aircraft logbooks, parts management, and hangar operations.
The goal of this program is to help service members transition from military aviation maintenance experience into civilian aviation maintenance careers and FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification pathways.

Aircraft inspections and maintenance coordination
Aircraft logbooks and maintenance records
Parts ordering and inventory management
Aircraft servicing (oil, tires, servicing, cleaning)
Assisting FAA-certified mechanics
Maintenance tracking systems
Hangar operations and aircraft ground handling

FAA regulatory environment
General aviation maintenance workflow
This program is intended to help bridge the gap between military aircraft maintenance experience and civilian aviation maintenance careers.

Fundamentals Flight Training is an FAA-approved Part 141 flight training organization located at Erie International Airport in Erie, Pennsylvania. Fundamentals Flight Training provides flight training from Private Pilot through Commercial Pilot and Flight Instructor certificates and works closely with aviation maintenance professionals to maintain aircraft to FAA standards.
